Job Submission Guidelines
If we are doing the design work for you:
You have a great idea but need help combining your photos, illustrations, and text into a completed, printable design. Just send us what you have, and we’ll put it together for you.
To send digital or scanned photos and other graphics:
If the total file size is below 20 MB you can email them (one per email is fine, or multiple files per image is fine) . Our email address is: office@countrypinesprinting.com. Note that we cannot receive ZIP files attached to emails as our mail software strips them out and destroys them.
Upload
Go to our File Upload page on this web site and follow the instructions for uploading files there. Note that you can only upload one file at a time. If you want to upload several files or a whole folder, you’ll need to ZIP them first, then upload the ZIP file.
You may save your files to a flash drive or CD/DVD and send through the mail. Actual photos can be mailed to us to be scanned and used in the finished product. All photos will be returned after the completion of the job. NOTE: If the photos are non-replaceable you may want to insure them. We are not responsible for lost or damaged mail. We do our best to preserve the integrity of all photos once they are within our facility, but cannot guarantee their safety to or from us and you.
To send text
Text for all items, whether a postcard, flyer or book manuscript, can be submitted by . . .
If the total file size is below 20 MB you can email them (one per email is fine, or multiple files per image is fine) . Our email address is: office@countrypinesprinting.com. Note that we cannot receive ZIP files attached to emails as our mail software strips them out and destroys them. If you are just needing to send the wording for a postcard, flyer, etc., it is also fine to just include it in the email message instead of attaching a separate Word file.
If you only have a paper copy of the text you want us to use, whether hand written or typed, you would need to mail it to us. NOTE: Please make sure you retain a copy for yourself in case your copy gets lost or damaged in the mail. We are not responsible for lost copy, so make sure you have another backup copy if needed.
To send your design ideas:
If you have a design already in mind, or have a sketch or sample design or color samples that you want us to go by, you will most likely need to mail them to us. Sketches can be faxed or mailed. Or if you have partially created a “general” design in a computer program that is compatible with our programs, you could email the file to us at office@countrypinesprinting.com or use the File Upload option so that we can open and review before starting your project. NOTE: It is unlawful to recreate or use previously copyrighted material unless you have written permission from the original copyright owner, so be sure you are using your own original material.
If you are sending your completed design:
You are a graphic designer and you have a completed file ready to send to us for printing. That’s great! There are two main ways you can provide us with your completed file:
If you are using Adobe InDesign or any other program that can create press quality PDFs, go ahead and send us your completed project as a PDF file. If your design program has an option to export to the PDF/X-1a:2001 format, please use that PDF specification when exporting, as this ensures your file will work well in our prepress systems. If your program doesn’t have that capability, no worries–we can fix up your PDF after we receive it.
You can attach your PDF to an email if the file size is below 20 MB, or you can upload the file to our web site on our File Upload page.
Packaged InDesign File
If you wish to send us your InDesign file so that we can make minor adjustments and produce a press ready PDF on our systems, you will need to send the file as a “package.” Open your file in InDesign, go to File>Package, then follow the short wizard, making sure that “Include Fonts” and “Include linked graphics” are both checked. InDesign will ask you where to save the resulting folder–on the Desktop for example. Once the package is made, locate the resulting folder and ZIP it (on Windows right click then Send to>Compressed (zipped) File, on Mac right click and choose Compress). This ZIP file can then be uploaded to us on our File Upload page.
Other Programs and Formats
Microsoft Publisher
If you are using Microsoft Publisher and want to send us your Publisher file, you will need to run the Pack and Go wizard. The procedure for this may be different depending on the version of Publisher you are using, but you should be able to find the Pack and Go option by going to File>Export, then choosing Save for a Commercial Printer. Call us if you need us to walk you through this process. Once the wizard is finished, ZIP the resulting folder (right click then Send to>Compressed File) and then upload it to us using our File Upload page.
Microsoft Word and Other Word Processors
If you send your file in Word or any other word processor (such as WordPerfect, Open Document, Apple Pages, etc.), you will need to also send us a PDF. Microsoft Word and most other word processors often substitute fonts without our knowledge. A PDF lets us know how you thought the document should look.
Other File Formats
You may also submit your completed job as a JPEG, EPS, CDR (CorelDraw), AI (Illustrator), or PSD (Photoshop) file. When doing so, be sure you understand bleed and how to include it in your file. When sending raster-based formats such as JPEG and PSD, make sure your file resolution is at least 300 dpi for best image reproduction on our systems.
