This book tells the story of Jay and Jeannette Nightingale and their work along the Ohio River Valley. In his introduction, the author states:

If I were to write a book, I would call it “Never a Dull Moment.” It would be a biography of my life as a Methodist pastor in the foothills of the Ohio River. I realize that not many people would find it interesting, but then some would! My main interest in writing such a book would be to help change the persona that to be a minister of the Gospel is dull and not very exciting. It’s just the opposite! Not for one moment would I hesitate to show such a life of servitude as anything less than quite active, adventurous, and sometimes downright dangerous.
